1. 2010 Workshop for Architecture Students
A workshop for Architecture students was conducted at IIT Kanpur during July 12 –17, 2010. The aim of this workshop was to draw the attention of architecture students towards keeping the earthquake engineering aspects in view while designing their structures. The workshop was attended by 52 participants from 19 colleges of architecture. The successful conduct of the workshop was facilitated by the following faculty:
(a) Prof. Keya Mitra, Department of Architecture, Bengal Engineering & Science College, Shibpur
(b) Prof. Mahua Mukherjee, Department of Architecture, IIT Roorkee, Roorkee
(c) Prof. Vasudha Gokhale, Dr. B.N. College of Architecture for Women, Pune
(d) Prof. Meera Shirolkar, Dr. B.N. College of Architecture for Women, Pune
(e) Prof. Atanu Dutta, Department of Civil Engineering, NIT Silchar
The design assignment which was completed by the participants during the workshop was finally evaluated by the jury consisting of:

2. Literature Review Workshop 2010 for PG Students
The annual 10-day workshop on Earthquake Engineering Literature Survey was successfully conducted at IIT Kanpur during July 10 – 19, 2010. 67 participants from 18 colleges all over India participated in the workshop. The workshop was sponsored by Computers and Structures Inc (CSI) and Poonam and Prabhu Goel Research Foundation Fund at IIT Kanpur.
3. Inter-School Quiz Competition on IITK-BMTPC Earthquake Tips by NICEE
NICEE will be conducting its annual Inter-School Quiz Competition based on IITK-BMTPC Earthquake Tips. The final of the competition will be held on January 26, 2011 at Outreach Auditorium, IIT Kanpur. Members are requested to encourage the schools in their area to participate in the competition.
